Working extra or over time and have got no way to relax you. Sitting 24/7 in front of your box, ok I mean your laptop or computer. But hey you have the magic wand as well, what I am talking about is the small connection that your ISP provides; yes you guessed it right I am talking about the internet.
Internet has everything in this huge www (World Wide Web), and you can get any information you are looking for over the net. Ok, now back to what we were talking about – working extra and no time to relax, now since you have internet you can relax yourself, what more you can even see your favorite movies or television shows online over the net.
The technology I am talking about is known as internet TV. You might be thinking that were in the world can we see TV shows over the internet. Well before I explain that to you let me first brief you on how does internet TV works. Before you just enlighten yourself with were to find TV shows or movies shown in TV over the net you should first know how this technology works.
Videos and shows are transmitted via digital media when it comes to TV shows, but in the world of internet all voice, data, videos or anything are transmitted in the form of packets, known as data packets. This is done to make the transfer more secured, hence when the video or TV shows are concerned they should also be encoded first in the form of data packets and then transmitted in the internet so that you can receive it securely and watch your favorite TV show right from your laptop or desktop. The question that pops up in your mind right now is how can that be done or how is that done, the answer to the same is very simple while interesting to know as well. This digital media are first converted into digital files with the help of codecs and then put into a packet form to be transmitted.
While this files are transmitted, a decoder (another form of codec) is also transmitted along with the packet, which is received by the user, once received this decoder automatically acts and converts the videos from that of a binary language file to that of what we can see and hear. This is how the codec – a form of helps us watch any show or video over the internet.
You should also know the truth that all this files are actually kept in a server from where these coding and de-coding processes takes place and the videos are transmitted to our computer. The fact is to watch such videos over the internet we actually need to get into the server and access the file first. Well, am not talking about getting into the server the wrong way, rather this server would ask for a valid permission in the form of username and password which once entered would allow you to access the server’s database and let you see videos and tv shows over the internet.
