The Galaxy J8 and Galaxy J6 Plus are two intermediate phones from the Asian company Samsung. Both are similar in design, with a 6-inch screen with thin edges, an elongated body, and a double camera, but they bring significant differences in the technical data sheet, in specifications such as processor and RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 is found for values in the range of 250 euros in electronic commerce, depending on the offers of the day. It comes in three colors: black, silver, and purple. The Galaxy J6 Plus, in turn, does not usually exceed 200 euros and are available in black, silver and red. In the following lines, take a look at the differences and similarities between Samsung smartphones.
Both Samsung phones follow the design of premium smartphones like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9. Both have thin-edge displays and elongated bodies. The Galaxy J6 Plus draws attention for its glass back, which is becoming the industry trend, while the Galaxy J8 has a metal construction.
The common point between mobile phones is on the screen. Both have a 6-inch panel with HD+ (1480 x 720 pixels) resolution, which is behind Samsung competitors, such as the Moto G6 and Zenfone 5 Selfie, with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) displays.
The difference, however, remains in technology. Galaxy J8 has Super AMOLED panel, known for bright colors. The Galaxy J6 Plus, in turn, has a TFT LCD screen.
The Galaxy J8 has a more advanced technical sheet, thanks to the Snapdragon 450 processor (8 cores and 1.8 GHz) and 4 GB RAM. The Galaxy J6 Plus, in turn, has the Snapdragon 425 (4 cores and 1.4 GHz) and 3 GB RAM. Despite the differences, cell phones should perform everyday tasks well, such as using WhatsApp, Facebook, and other lighter applications.
The Galaxy J8 also stands out for its 64 GB storage, double the Galaxy J6 Plus (32 GB). Both work with microSD memory cards.
cameras
Cell phones attract attention due to the double camera system. In the Galaxy J6 Plus, the set is divided into 13 and 5-megapixel sensors with apertures of f / 1.9 and f / 2.2. The Galaxy J8 has 16 and 5 megapixels with a more open aperture (f / 1.7 f / 1.9), which may be better for photos in dark environments and at night.
The difference is even more significant in the selfie camera. In the Galaxy J8, the sensor has a much higher resolution, at 16 megapixels (f / 1.9). The Galaxy J6 Plus, on the other hand, has a simpler, 8 MP (f/1.9) camera.
Battery
The Galaxy J8 takes the lead with a 3500 mAh battery, slightly higher than the 3300 mAh of the Galaxy J6 Plus. Despite these numbers, the simplest model comes out on top in terms of autonomy of 16 hours, according to Samsung, compared to 13 hours for the Galaxy J8.
android version
Both phones come standard with Android 8.1 (Oreo). The update to Android 9 (PIE) is not planned. Both the Galaxy J6 Plus and the Galaxy J8 bring modifications from the system manufacturer and bring their own resources, such as Dual Messenger, which allows you to use two Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp accounts and other messaging applications.
Features Samsung Galaxy J8 Dual SIM
The Galaxy J6 Plus and Galaxy J8 also repeat the biometric options, with a fingerprint reader and face recognition.
Price and where to buy
The Galaxy J6 Plus is one of Samsung's most recent launches in Europe and Latin America. The cell phone has an approximate price of 260 euros, but there are much cheaper offers in virtual stores.
